I am currently completing my graduation internship at Just Audit while finishing the final year of my studies at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam (HvA). This final phase of my studies represents an important milestone in my academic and professional development.
During my internship, I have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the auditing profession and to further develop my analytical thinking, professional skepticism, and understanding of internal control processes. Working in a practical environment allows me to connect theory to real-world business situations, which I find both challenging and motivating.
For my thesis research, I focus on the risks arising from the automation of purchase invoice processing, specifically Scan & Recognize technologies. As organizations increasingly rely on automated systems, it becomes essential to understand how these technologies influence risk management, internal controls, and audit procedures. My research examines potential risks such as data inaccuracies, system dependencies, fraud vulnerabilities, and control weaknesses, while also exploring how organizations can mitigate these risks effectively.
I am particularly interested in the intersection between auditing and technology, as digitalization continues to reshape the financial and control environment. Through this internship and research project, I aim to strengthen my expertise in IT-related risks and contribute valuable insights to the evolving audit landscape.
